Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion (コードギアス 反逆のルルーシュ Kōdo Giasu: Hangyaku no Rurūshu?), often referred to as simply Code Geass, is a Japanese anime series created by Sunrise, directed by Gorō Taniguchi, and written by Ichirō Ōkouchi, with original character designs by manga authors Clamp. Set in an alternate future, the series focuses on how the former prince Lelouch Lamperouge obtains a power known as Geass and decides to use it to obliterate the Holy Britannian Empire, an imperial monarchy and a superpower that has been conquering various countries.
Code Geass first ran in Japan on Mainichi Broadcasting System from October 5, 2006, to July 28, 2007. Its sequel series, Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion R2 (コードギアス 反逆のルルーシュR2 Kōdo Giasu Hangyaku no Rurūshu Āru Tsū?), ran on MBS and Tokyo Broadcasting System from April 6, 2008 to September 28, 2008. The series has also been adapted into various manga and light novels with the former showing various alternate scenarios from the TV series. Bandai Entertainment also licensed most parts from the franchise for English release in December 2007, airing the two TV series on Cartoon Network. Most manga and light novels have also been published in North America by Bandai.
The TV anime series has been well received in Japan, selling over a million DVD and Blu-ray Disc volumes. Both seasons have won several awards at the Tokyo International Anime Fair, Animage Anime Grand Prix, and Animation Kobe event. Critics have also praised the series for its large audience appeal as well as the conflicts shown across among the main characters and the moral questions presented.

Who watched it? Who liked it?

I saw it some days ago.
Let's start to say that Code Geass has no innovations.In the beginning it is like Death Note,A dark and ultra intelligent student gains the Power that allows him to submit the world from a "God",The Mecha ain't new there are thousands anime that have the same robot and the relationship between Euphemia and Suzaku is totally copied from Gundam SEED.The final aim of the father of lelouch is a bad copy of Evangelion aim,GunXSword and so on,it is good ofc but nothing new. But Code Geass is a really good anime,for sure one of the best of the last years.It was born as Death note opponent seems and it is better since death note's second part sux completly till the end. Even if Lelouch could be like Light,but he actually ain't.The difference comes here: Light is a monotheme evil/bad guy and he is not even close to be real,He hasn't human feelings,he is like a evil machine... while Lelouch struggles between good and evil(again nothing new ) and he has feelings and he does way more deep thoughts.Lelouch acts in 1st person even if with a mask but he has more charisma that allows him to do spectacular entries.Ok, closed with Death Note now.
Code Geass R1 is great...Code Geass R2 has many absurd things and some side changes and strategies don't seem to be real with more useless facts such as the parties etc where they have nothing to do with the trama and just show the foolness/fanservice/demential kid's relation ,but u can by-pass it bcs CG captures u in every episode.R2 has too many and too fast changes of side in the end,they could be longer...incredible power-up of the mecha and that Suzaku is highlander in the end,he kills every1 like nothing.
Code Geass tho has incredible animations(well it is not a old anime...but even for the new ones the animations are superb).The Music is good and not like Death note that puts the standard epic/battle orchestra song in a "horror" where they show Light with the evil face,but get it he s only a write...that doesn't suit much even if it is a good song,while the hard rock songs suit it better.CG has more than 1 orchestral song and more genres.R2 seems worst than R1 and in fact it is,BUT the end of R2 is just fabulous
Another thing the chara design is CLAMP's 1 so it looks too girly with skinny men and no muscles,even if I don't like this kind and unreal design I must say that it makes the atmosphere even darker so in the end it was a good choice.Mechanical designs are extreme

hmm the 1 i liked beside Lelouch was Shink(maybe bcs he has the voice of jack sparrow in italian)

Damn miche u dont look at all or sound like anime/magna type of person ahah, yet u watched alot of them.

ye i m not anime/manga guy,nerd and so on,infact i don't show to be 1 since I rarely talked about anime,the things i said abt CG may let me look professional,but that's just because I don't watch anymore anime like kids do,just for pure fun and choose the cooler chars,but to get something from it by analyzing and criticizing it.In fact I consider anime,cartoons or movies the same thing,as long as they worth it and satisfy your tastes.
Nah i don't read manga and neither wait weekly chapters,as i said i like(beside Music) to see movies in the free time or to break study,that's when i'm at home.

anime/manga type of guy isn't geek or whatever. Just u like watch . =o

i watched the first 2 episodes of 1st seaso, it looks good and on the website shows code geass R3 so 3rd season
